This website is an initiative of the Division of Early Childhood and Education Improvement, Queensland Government Department of Education. It provides tools and resources to support early childhood educators to plan and deliver programs, and to document and reflect on children's learning.
The website is:
- targeted to educators of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the early years, as well as agencies delivering professional development to early childhood education and care services, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peak bodies, professional associations, teacher training groups and universities
- tailored to support implementation of the national Belonging, Being and Becomng – Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander context
- designed to support the objectives of the National Partnership Agreement on Universal Access to Early Childhood Education 2016 and 2017
- based on Queensland’s Foundations for Success: Guideline for extending and enriching learning for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in the Kindergarten Year, which was first published in 2008.
Foundations for Success provides comprehensive guidance, and culturally and linguistically appropriate support to implement the EYLF, in an easy-to-use, digital format. It provides early childhood educators with an exceptional opportunity to implement holistic programs, achieve critical elements under the National Quality Standard and deliver effective learning programs and successful transition to school for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children across Australia.
